The Institute of Urban Environment of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was established on July 4, 2006. It is a corporate entity affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is currently the only national research institution specializing in comprehensive urban environmental research. It currently has "Environmental Science and Engineering", "Ecology" major first-level discipline doctoral, masters degree awarding point and "Environmental Science and Engineering" post-doctoral research mobile station. The Institute has a high-level research team active in international frontiers and related fields, with advanced and complete large-scale analytical instrument systems recognized by the national testing qualifications, and has established the "Excellence and Innovation Center for Urban Atmospheric Environment Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences" and the "City of the Chinese Academy of Sciences" "Key Laboratory of Environment and Health", "Key Laboratory of Urban Pollutant Transformation of Chinese Academy of Sciences", "Public Service Platform for Research and Development of Bio-industry Technology in Xiamen, Chinese Academy of Sciences", "International Project Office of Urban Health Program" of International Federation of Science and Technology, "Xiamen Water Environment Many public platforms, including the Engineering Technology Research Center for Safety and Water Quality Assurance, are the "International Science and Technology Cooperation Base" and the "National Science and Technology Cooperation and Exchange Base with Taiwan" of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Peoples Republic of China.
